The D-star User Group Northern was formed in January 2008, by Ernie G4LUE, Chris G0URG, Mark G1ANI, Andy 2E0BLF and Jeff M3YVV.

Up to date the the group have invested over £3500 and lots of time in to the GB7YD project.

GB7YD is now G2 D-STAR gateway connected!

D-Star Gateways enable users to connect from a local D-Star repeater, equipped with a D-Star Gateway, to any other Gateway equipped D-Star repeater.

To ensure that only suitably licensed amateur radio operators can access a D-Star Gateway each individual user needs to be registered across the D-Star network.

Due to ongoing costs of over £1000 a year to keep the GB7YD D-STAR project operational, it as been decided that anyone that requires validating onto the GB7YD D-STAR gateway must be members of the group and hold a valid amateur radio license.

This will enable you to fully make use of the gateway and international D-STAR network. Plus give you access to our D-STAR school which will provide support, training and information exchange on D-STAR.

Non members are still welcome to use the both D-STAR UHF and VHF locally.
