Hi & thanks for reading this mesage. Im new to Dstar and have only just got my lead to programme my e880.
My questions are as follows ( SORRY if they appears to be stupid questions but im new ! )
anyhow i have read some relevant info about programming and linking repeaters but still not sure whats correct, is this right assuming i want to link to scarborough gb7rw on port c

ur call /gb7rw c rpt1 gb7yd c rpt2 gb7yd g
or is this correct ur call gb7rwcl rpt1 gb7yd c rpt2 gb7yd g

Earlier tonight i tried to connect to KI4WCS using method 2
BUT it kept disconnecting
why ? Cant i connect Yd to another repeater of my choice ?

Any thoughts or hints would be welcome!
thanks for your time hope to catch you on yd soon

Hi Paul,

take ♦ to represent a space when programming the radio.

to link to Scarborough GB7RW

UR:GB7RW♦CL
RPT1:GB7YD♦♦C
RPT2:GB7YD♦♦G
MY:YOURCALLSIGN

to talk through so RW users hear you. once you have heard the "REMOTE SYSTEM LINKED" message.

UR:CQCQCQ
RPT1:GB7YD♦♦C
RPT2:GB7YD♦♦G
MY:YOURCALLSIGN

when done unlink, you should hear "REMOTE SYSTEM UNLINKED".

UR:♦♦♦♦♦♦♦U
RPT1:GB7YD♦♦C
RPT2:GB7YD♦♦G
MY:YOURCALLSIGN

Same principal applies to linking just about anywhere (excepting Japan).

As for why KI4WCSkept unlinking I am none to sure, could be a number of reasons...flakey internet at their side, not accepting connections remotely. If I hear you on Paul I am more than happy to help.
All the best

Jeff

Hi Ian,

just shouted you but you weren't around.

The GB7YD C port was linked to REF005A that's why you heared this message.

Before calling you could try this command

UR: GB7YD♦IX
RPT1:GB7YD♦♦C
RPT2:GB7YD♦♦G
MY:YOURCALLSIGN

this will display the current status of all ports on GB7YD... or you could just unlink if it obviously not in use.

Regards

JEff
